Remodeling the pool area of this
Mediterranean-style ranch home, located at the top of a ridge with a 360-degree view, was an excellent opportunity for Preston
Waterscapes to showcase our vast array of artistic talents. Starting with an outdated pool that was too small, the owners
had a vision of a more functional, natural setting with a raised spa and plenty of decking to provide useable areas for personal
use and entertaining. Half the pool was demolished to make way for expansion and the addition of a shallow Baja-style
beach landing with fountain jets, and a large, 12-person spa. This custom spa has a deep, standing well with a multitude
of soothing jets and a custom, poured-in-place, rock textured coping and a series of artificial rock on the pool/spa transition.
Water cascades from hidden crevasses, crashing into both the pool and spa along cracks and ledges. Using a cast-on, hand
troweled application and rock texturing, the 5,500 sq. ft. deck and patio area are a random stone pattern that has been meticulously
stained. Custom, iridescent blue-green tile and a light blue mini-pebble plaster contrast gracefully with the otherwise
rock-themed setting. Employing our time-tested, self-developed printing techniques, and the addition of fossils, shells
and even sand dollars found on-site during excavation, Preston Waterscapes has lent a special touch to a very special project.
